Scripting:
OpenShot does support scripting! OpenShot provides a powerful API that allows you to automate video editing tasks using scripts. The API is available in several programming languages, including Python, which is commonly used for scripting with OpenShot.
You can find more information about the scripting capabilities and examples in the OpenShot Cloud API documentation. This documentation includes sample scripts and detailed instructions on how to use the API to create and manage video editing projects programmatically.
The API itself is free to use, but keep in mind that if you are using it on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, there may be costs associated with running instances and using cloud resources. The OpenShot Cloud API is designed to be scalable and can be integrated into your own cloud infrastructure.
NOTES: Track notes INSIDE the editor!
Playlists
Imagine VLC's video playlists - but now in a video editor.
This will be immensly useful for examining ARG videos, able to track media in one session without having to compare multiple projects.
Subtitles - TRANSCRIBE 4 FREE
It even includes free transcription - this means being able to process audio in a video and automatically convert it into subtitles!
Cap-cut costs money to do this effectively - but is free here.
If you would vote on my patreon - I'll release my free projects that are open-sourced -
Such as free GUI's to transcribe any media file so you don't need to code to use advanced CLI operations.
Timeline
Unlike capcut who ignores my feedback as a paid customer - has RIPPLE EDITS for free:
Player
Just like VLC you can set a custom loop - so it starts back at A after reaching B:
Very useful for analyzing hidden clues, meaning you don't have to constantly back-track the timeline to analyze.
Versioning
Instead of creating multiple projects for the same project, you can track versions
